Ezulwini Game Lodges is our “Place of Paradise” and we hope our guests will feel that way too. Activities & services on offer at the lodges are meant to reflect this. From the moment you arrive at our lodges, you will be immersed in nature and hospitality as warm as the African sun. Whether you choose to unwind poolside, spend your time gazing at wildlife from our skydecks, loose yourself in our library’s books, keep fit in our open-air fitness areas, experience a soothing massage on your private deck, etc. our place of paradise will leave you wanting for nothing.

SAFARI/GAME DRIVES – Guests staying at our lodges, enjoy complimentary, twice-daily safaris. Explore the stunning landscapes of the Olifants West Game Reserve while searching for iconic African wildlife with our qualified and knowledgeable guide & tracker teams. Learn about the art of tracking on early morning drives, stopping for a leg-stretch or indulge in a cold beverage at sunset on the afternoon drive, with the anticipation of the unexpected on the night portion as you head back to the lodge for dinner.
Please note that private game drives can be arranged, however this is at an additional cost and dependent on guest numbers & staff compliment at the time of booking. Enquire with reservations for availability and quote.
MASSAGE – A massage therapist resides on site at Billy’s Lodge, and is available throughout most of the year depending on her work cycle. She is able to offer 1hr full body massages or 30min neck & shoulder massages. For those staying in ultra-luxury suites, the massage can be arranged on your private decks, allowing for a fully immersive experience with nature. This service can be pre-booked prior to or upon your arrival to the lodges, subject to availability. As we only have one massage therapist on staff, there is a limited number of massages available per day.
FITNESS/WELLNESS EQUIPMENT – Equipment such as jumping/skipping ropes, yoga mats, yoga blocks, Pilates ball, stretch bands, free weights, etc. is available for guest use. Wellness equipment (yoga), when borrowed, should be returned after every use so that all guests may access the equipment during their stay with us. For the more fitness inclined, both lodges also have an outdoor fitness area with weights and weight bench for guests wanting to stay fit while being immersed in nature.
INVITING POOL – Lounge your day away at either lodge in our wonderfully situated pools. A waterfall feature lulls our Billy’s Lodge guests into a state of relaxation & rejuvenation. At River Lodge, the nearby pan beckons the local antelope & monkeys to quench their thirst while guests lounge poolside. Please note that pools are not heated during winter months.
LIBRARY – Both lodges have an extensive selection of reading materials including reference books, fiction & non-fiction, as well as an array of South African magazines available in the main lounges. Guests are welcome to BORROW the reading material, however, we do ask that they be returned prior to guest departure for other guests to enjoy.
BOARD GAMES – When staying at River Lodge, please ask your host if you would like to make use of our small selection of playing cards or board games. Please return these after every use in order that other guests may also utilize.
BIRD WATCHING – For beginner or avid bird watchers, both lodges have elevated walkways/Skydeck’s leading to viewpoints that are a haven for birds. Our knowledgeable staff will be more than happy to guide you to the various areas to spot our varied bird life. We also have reference books on hand you may wish to borrow and bird/animal checklists to keep track of your sightings. You may also want to pack a small pair of binoculars to take with you on safari or while lazing at the lodge.
SHOPPING – There is a small curio shop at Ezulwini Billy’s Lodge where Ezulwini apparel is sold, plus a small selection of African curios. All items are individually priced and can be purchased on your visit to the shop, or the total amount can be added to your account and paid prior to your departure. For guests staying solely at Ezulwini River Lodge, it may be possible to organize a quick stop-over at the curio shop during your game drive however this is dependent on guest numbers & staff compliment.
PARADISE CAMP – No safari is complete without a visit to Paradise Camp, Ezulwini River Lodge’s viewing platform, located only 2kms from the main lodge. Guides will organize to bring guests to this special viewing spot to see the endless landscape of the Olifants West Game Reserve and the Drakensberg Escarpment.
WINE TASTING – Wine tastings can be organized in the intimate Billy’s Lodge wine cellar or the newly constructed River Lodge tasting room where guests will be educated on the local history and that of South Africa’s viticulture (wine) journey. Tastings are available throughout the year but are dependent on availability of management.
LAUNDRY SERVICE – There is no need to pack extra clothing on holiday as a laundry service is available at Ezulwini. We do require a 24-hour turnaround time for your laundry requirements times). We are unable to offer specialized/dry cleaning service. A fee of ZAR250.00 – R270.00 per laundry load (rates may change, & larger loads may be charged a higher rate) will be added to your account.
IN-HOUSE PARAMEDIC – Although based at Billy’s Lodge, we have a fully trained paramedic available to both lodges who is able to assist in a medical emergency. However, please note that this is not a 24-hour/365-day service, and our in-house paramedic may be on off days or on holidays. If you begin to feel unwell during your stay, please alert your hosts immediately and confirm any symptoms you are experiencing. This will assist us if a medical professional’s services are required. We also have access to a number of excellent clinics and hospitals in the area should this be required. Lodges are equipped with first aid kits for minor emergencies, such as cuts & slivers. Please note that we are unable to issue any type of medication to our guests.
