What To Pack For Safari
This is merely a suggested packing list for what to bring when on safari at Ezulwini Game Lodges. You are welcome to bring what you are comfortable with. We do however recommend wearing neutral and earthy colored clothing in order to blend in with the environment. The idea on a safari is that you spot wild animals – not that they spot you.
- Light cotton trousers/pants and cotton shorts, and heavier cotton trousers/jeans (for winter months, May to September/October)
- Light cotton shirts, polos or t-shirts (long and/or short sleeved depending on the season)
- Comfortable, lightweight walking shoes or sneakers, and sandals
- Rain proof jacket or windbreaker (for rainy season, November to March)
- Warm fleece/wind proof jacket and hat/beanie & gloves and face buff (for cooler months, May to September/October)
- Night wear/cool cotton pyjamas (warmer ones for May to September/October)
- Bathing suit/swimsuit, wraps/covers and sunscreen (please note that pools are not heated during winter months)
- Sufficient changes of underwear/undergarments and cotton socks
- Sun hat/wide brimmed hat or baseball cap
- Polarized sunglasses
- Camera or cell phone (telephoto lens suggested but not required) and binoculars (but not essential)
- Small flashlight/torch
- Power bank (to charge electronics during regular rolling black outs/load shedding
- Plug adapters (to fit South African 3 round pin or European 2-pin) and charging cables (USB ports in all rooms)
- Toiletries, medication, etc. we also recommend lip balm for the dry winter months
Dress for dinner is generally smart/casual (more relaxed fit but polished). We would suggest that guests feel comfortable, but also wear appropriate attire. More formal button up shirts or polos (long or short sleeved), trousers, tailored shorts, etc. A little ‘dressier’ attire than safari day wear when out and about at the lodge.
There is curio shop at Ezulwini Billy’s Lodge selling Ezulwini t-shirts, golf shirts, caps, hats, and other mementos.
